The 22100B Heavy Duty Lathe is a member of the Sharp B-Series, designed for maximum durability and capacity when machining large-diameter and long-length workpieces. Its foundation is a massive, one-piece Meehanite cast bed which is 16 inches wide, ensuring exceptional rigidity, dampening of vibration, and permanent bed straightness. The headstock features a large 4-5 inch spindle bore with a D1-11 camlock spindle nose, powered by a 15 HP motor. The 12 spindle speeds, ranging from a low of 10 RPM up to 1,000 RPM, guarantee ample torque for the heaviest cuts. All headstock gears are made from hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material for long-lasting power and accuracy. For superior performance, the carriage sliding ways are coated with TURCITE for better oil retention and minimum bed wear. The lathe includes a quick-change gearbox with direct selection for inch and metric threading, and a removable gap allows the swing to increase to 31 inches for handling extra-large short-length work.
