The Sharp 22120B is a manual geared-head lathe from the 22-B Series- engineered for extreme durability and high-torque turning. The foundation is a one-piece Meehanite casting bed, ensuring maximum rigidity, vibration dampening, and permanent straightness. The wide 16-inch bed further enhances stability. It is powered by a 15 HP motor driving a spindle with a 4-5 inch through-hole and a D1-11 camlock nose, offering excellent capacity for large diameter stock and long shaft work with its 120 inch center distance. The headstock uses hardened and ground Chrome-Moly gears and high-precision bearings for long-lasting accuracy. The carriage is coated with TURCITE to minimize bed wear and improve oil retention. For short- large parts, a removable gap allows the swing over the bed to be increased to 31 inches. The 12 spindle speeds, starting as low as 10 RPM, provide the necessary low-end torque for heavy cuts on hard materials. This model offers a quick-change gearbox with direct selection for inch- and metric-threading.
