The Sharp 24120V is a heavy-duty engine lathe engineered for high precision and robust performance on large and long materials. The machine’s foundation is a massive, one-piece cast iron bed that is 19 inches wide, providing superior rigidity and stability to dampen vibration and ensure permanent straightness. Power is delivered by a 15 HP motor to a clutch-type geared headstock that offers 18 spindle speeds ranging from 10 to 1,200 RPM, allowing operators to select the optimal speed for any turning operation, from heavy roughing to fine finishing.

The spindle features a D1-11 Camlock nose and a large 4-125 inch bore, accommodating large diameter stock with ease. All headstock gears are manufactured from hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material for long-lasting accuracy and power transmission. High precision is maintained by a pair of matched angular contact bearings supporting the spindle. The lathe is highly versatile, featuring an extremely wide thread range from 1-4 TPI to 84 TPI, and includes a removable gap that increases the swing capacity over the bed to 33 inches for large, short workpieces. The carriage and cross slide ways are pressure lubricated by push-button knobs.
