The Sharp 26100B Heavy Duty Lathe is a robust and highly stable machine from the 26-B-Series, specifically engineered for large-scale turning operations in industrial environments. Its foundation is a one-piece Meehanite cast bed with a wide 16-inch bedway, providing superior stability, absorbing vibration, and ensuring permanent accuracy of the bedways. The lathe is equipped with a substantial 4-5 inch spindle bore and a D1-11 Camlock spindle nose, giving it the capacity to hold and machine large stock.

Driving the machine is a 15 HP motor which powers the headstock through 12 distinct speeds, ranging from a low of 10 RPM up to 1,000 RPM. This low-speed capability ensures ample torque is available for heavy-duty roughing on hard materials. For exceptional precision and durability, all headstock gears are made from hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material. The carriage features TURCITE-coated sliding surfaces to minimize bed wear and improve oil retention, extending the life of the machine. The lathe can accommodate short, oversized workpieces with a removable gap that expands the swing to 35 inches. It also features a quick-change gearbox for easy direct selection of a wide range of inch and metric threads.
