The Sharp 2660B Heavy Duty Lathe is a high-performance machine from the B-Series, engineered for maximum rigidity and precision in demanding industrial environments. Its foundation is a solid one-piece Meehanite cast bed with a 16-inch wide bed way, which prevents vibration and ensures long-term accuracy and straightness. This model offers an expansive 26-inch swing and a distance between centers of 60 inches. For handling large stock, it features a generous 4-5 inch spindle bore and a D1-11 Camlock spindle nose.

Power is supplied by a robust 15 HP motor, which drives the spindle through a 12-speed gearbox, providing speeds from 10 to 1,000 RPM. The low speed of 10 RPM is crucial for generating the high torque required for heavy-duty turning and hogging operations. Headstock components are built to last, with all gears being hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material, and the spindle is supported by high-precision tapered roller bearings. The carriage features TURCITE coating on the ways for reduced friction and extended life. The lathe includes a removable gap to boost the swing to 35 inches for short, large diameter parts, and a quick-change gearbox for easy selection of a wide range of inch and metric threads.
