The Sharp 30120B is a robust engine lathe from the 30-B-Series, engineered for exceptional stability and the heavy-duty machining of large and long materials. Its foundational strength comes from a one-piece Meehanite cast bed that is 15-75 inches wide, providing superior vibration dampening and ensuring the permanent straightness of the bed ways. The headstock features a 4-5 inch spindle bore and a D1-11 Camlock spindle nose, ideal for accommodating large-diameter stock. Power is supplied by a 15 HP motor which drives the spindle through 12 speeds across the 10 to 1,000 RPM range- with the lowest speeds providing high torque for demanding operations.

Headstock durability is ensured by hardened and ground Chrome-Moly gears. The carriage ways are coated with TURCITE for reduced bed wear and better oil retention, extending the machine’s life. This lathe offers a massive 30-inch swing over the bed and a significant 120 inches between centers for extended turning capacity. A removable gap further increases the swing capability to 39 inches for short, large diameter parts, making the 30120B a reliable workhorse for heavy industrial applications.
