The Sharp 30120V Heavy Duty Lathe from the 30-V-Series is engineered for strength and precision in demanding industrial turning applications. Its foundation is a massive, one-piece Meehanite casting bed that is 19 inches wide, providing superior stability and vibration dampening for high accuracy. The headstock features a D1-11 Camlock spindle nose and a substantial 4-125 inch spindle bore, making it ideal for machining large diameter stock. Driven by a 15 HP motor, the clutch-type geared head offers 18 spindle speeds ranging from 10 to 1,200 RPM, with low speeds providing maximum torque for heavy cutting.

The machine features a remarkably wide range of threading capacity, capable of cutting coarse threads down to 1-4 TPI over 60 different inch threads. For enduring accuracy, all gears are hardened and ground from Chrome-Moly material, and the spindle is supported by high-precision matched angular contact bearings. The lathe also includes a removable gap to increase the swing capacity to 39 inches for short, oversized workpieces. Carriage and cross slide ways are lubricated via push button knobs, and a jog button is equipped on the headstock for easy gear engagement.
