The Sharp 3060B Heavy Duty Lathe is engineered for industrial precision and powerful machining of large workpieces. It is constructed with a rigid, one-piece Meehanite casting bed that is 15-75 inches wide, providing superior stability and vibration dampening for consistent accuracy. The spindle features a substantial 4-5 inch bore and a D1-11 Camlock nose, enabling the turning of large diameter shafts. Power is supplied by a robust 15 HP motor driving the headstock through 12 gear steps, which provide a speed range of 10 to 1,000 RPM. The low speed of 10 RPM ensures the lathe maintains high torque for heavy cuts and large diameter turning.

For long-lasting accuracy, all headstock gears are made from hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material. The carriage features a generous 17-3/4 inch cross slide travel, and its ways are coated with TURCITE to minimize wear and improve oil retention. The machine is versatile, offering a removable gap that expands the swing to 39 inches for large, short parts. The quick-change gearbox allows for direct selection of a wide range of both inch and metric threads, making the 3060B an ideal choice for heavy-duty fabrication and repair shops.
