The Sharp 3080V Heavy Duty Lathe is a high-performance machine in the 30-V Series, engineered for maximum stability and a wide range of turning operations. Its foundation is a substantial one-piece casting bed that measures a wide 19 inches, which effectively dampens vibrations and ensures precise alignment. Power comes from a 15 HP motor driving a clutch-type geared head that offers 18 spindle speeds from a low of 10 RPM for heavy cutting to 1,200 RPM for finishing. The headstock features a 4-125-inch spindle bore and a D1-11 Camlock spindle nose.

For lasting accuracy, all headstock gears are made from hardened and ground Chrome-Moly material, and the spindle is supported by high-precision matched angular contact bearings. The lathe provides an exceptionally wide threading range from a coarse 0-25 TPI to a fine 84 TPI, covering inch, metric, modular, and diametral pitch threads. The carriage and cross slide are equipped with push-button lubrication, and the machine includes a removable gap to boost the swing capacity up to 39 inches for large, short workpieces. With its 80-inch center distance, the 3080V is built to handle heavy, long, and complex components.
