The GEN TURN 52-BY2 is a sophisticated 9-Axis CNC Mill – Turn Lathe optimized for high-volume and high-complexity machining utilizing its unique capabilities. It is built around twin 6-000 RPM opposed spindles, each delivering 15 HP peak power and capable of handling a 2-008 inch (51 mm) bar capacity using a Traub TRB-52 collet. The machine’s key strength is its tooling system, which provides 36 total tool positions, including 18 driven tools. Critically, it features a 12-tool “Any-Angle” B-Axis capability, allowing for intricate milling and drilling operations on the part at any angle, combining with a dual Y-axis (Y1 and Y2) for both front and back work. This configuration allows for simultaneous machining on both the main and sub-spindles, drastically reducing cycle times. The axes are highly precise, offering a minimum programmable input resolution of 0-00004 inch (0-001 mm), with rapid travel rates of 1-181 inches per minute (30 m – min).
