The GEN TURN SL-20Y2 is an advanced Multi-Axis CNC Swiss Machine Lathe designed for high-speed, high-precision manufacturing of small-diameter components up to 20 mm in barstock diameter. It is a powerful 8-axis Hybrid machine featuring Double “Y” Axis and Double “C” Axis functionality, enabling unparalleled geometric flexibility and complexity in part production. The core strength is its ability to perform simultaneous machining on both the Main and Sub-Spindles to reduce cycle times drastically. The main spindle boasts a maximum speed of 10-000 RPM supported by a robust 5-bearing configuration, while the sub-spindle runs at 8-000 RPM.

Tooling capacity is substantial, with 30 total tool positions including 8 standard driven tools-5 cross slide live tools at 8-000 RPM on the main spindle, and 3 axial live tools at 4-000 RPM on the sub-spindle. The machine’s flexibility is highlighted by its Removable Rotary Synchronous Guide-Bushing, allowing for Swiss-style or non-guide bushing operations. To ensure consistent thermal stability for precision work, it incorporates a Cutting Oil Chiller. Control is managed by the high-performance Mitsubishi M-830 CNC Control.
